William (Bill) Joseph Carpenter of Caseville, Michigan passed away on December 2, 2018 after his extended battle with cancer.

He was born in 1960 in Bad Axe, Michigan, the son of Helen (Ruth) Carpenter and the late William Carpenter.

He is survived by his mother Helen (Ruth) Carpenter, his brothers Gregory Carpenter, David (Karri) Carpenter, James (Jennifer) Carpenter and sister Kathleen (Gene) Siemen and his nieces and nephews.

Bill was predeceased by his longtime partner the late Jacklyn Ruth and is survived by her children; Terrence (Carol) Ruth, Lori (Robert) Watkins and Susan (Michael) Philbrick, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

After graduating high school, Bill enlisted in the Army and served from 1978 through 1983.  On his return from the Army, he resided In Detroit and Caseville, Michigan.  He worked in the construction (concrete) field for 25 years.

Bill enjoyed his family, especially being "Papa" to all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He enjoyed his life and teased almost everyone he met.  He spent a great deal of time involved in outdoor activities and was quite lucky when he played Lotto.

A funeral mass for Bill will be held at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville on Friday, December 7th.  Visitation will be at 10:00 am until the time of the mass at 11:00 am.  Arrangement are being handled through the Knoblock Funeral Home, Kinde.


In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The American Cancer Society or Reverence Hospice.
