The incomparable Sharon Gasko (Ameloot, Rodgers) has exited the stage of life on October 20, 2024. Sharon went peacefully in her sleep in her Port Austin home at the age of 69.

Sharon was born in Detroit, Michigan to Marianne (Wenz, Morgan) and Nicholas Gasko on 9/29/1955. She was married to Kenneth Ameloot, 1974-1982 and they had two awesome sons who she is survived by – Kenneth Ameloot II (Melanie) and Thomas Ameloot. She was married to Dennis Rodgers in 1995 through the remainder of his life in 2022. They are survived by his daughters Christina Mansoor and Rebecca Wilson.  She is also survived by her fabulous sisters, Lynda (Pete), Nancy (Mike), and Karen (Jeff) and her marvelous grandchildren Angeline, Lily, and Logan.

Sharon held a BA in Business Administration and was the first in her family to graduate from college, Lawrence Tech. She attended Fraser High School graduating with the class of 1973. Sharon loved the English language, the pursuit of knowledge, a good argument, and playing all kinds of games like pinball and scrabble. She had a great sense of humor and adventure.

A public memorial will be held on December 7th from 4-9pm at the Motownbnb -2702 West Grand Boulevard, Detroit. Another memorial will be held in the Port Austin area June 2025.
