Ronald Edward Leavine, 66, of Port Austin passed away Friday. August 17, 2018, with family at his side after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born July 5, 1952 in Bad Axe, the son of Geraldine (Bugenski) Leavine and the late Edward Leavine.

Ronald was a 1971 graduate of Port Austin High School.  He retired from Thumb Area Transit after 32 years of service.  He had a love for farming.  He also enjoyed showing his great nephews and nieces the farm animals.

Ronald is survived by his mother, Geraldine Leavine of Port Austin, three sisters:  Marlene (David) Polega of Armada, Darlene (Martin) Gorkowski of Filion and Marilyn (Kenneth) Jimkoski of Port Austin; two brothers: Larry (Beverly) Leavine of Port Austin, and David (Danielle) Leavine of Port Austin.

Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, goddaughter Katie (fiancé Vincent Yaroch) Leavine, Rhonda (Ryan) Woodke, Bradley (Kelly) Leavine, Mikaela (Special friend Jacob Kennedy) Leavine, Makenzie Leavine, Jessica (Bradley) Podlesney, Nicole (Special friend Eric Toth) Leavine, Andrew (Special friend, Briana Ritter) Leavine, Austin (special friend Liz Mikolajek) Leavine, Melissa Laseck, Amanda (Jake) Schumacher, Kyle (Laura) Jimkoski, Jamie (Brett) Ross, Nancy (Charles) Laird, Brian (Tara) Polega, Mark (Jennifer) Polega, Susan (Cameron) Dettloff and Donald (Alexandria) Polega.  Also 8 great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Ronald Edward Leavine will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 21, 20189 at St Michael's Catholic Church of the Annunciation of the Lord Parish in Port Austin.  Visitation will be at the Knoblock Funeral Home, Kinde from 3:00 to 7:30 pm on Monday, and in the church from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass at 11:00.  Burial in the church cemetery.
