Paul James Ottinger Sr, 75 passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2024, with his family by his side at Autumnwood of Deckerville.

Paul was born on February 20, 1948, in Trenton, New Jersey, the son of the late George and Clara (Shepherd) Ottinger. Paul married Josephine ( Klosowski) on October 27, 1972.

He is survived by his children Paul Ottinger Jr, Kathi (Geoffery) Mead, and Kelli (Brad Miller), as well as his three beloved grandsons, Jacob, Henrik, and Weston.

Paul is also survived by his sister Patricia (Carl) Boyer; Sister-in-laws Violet (Leroy) Jennings, Maryann Smith; brothers-in-law Robert (Mary) Klosowski and John Klosowski as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine, Parents George and Clara, sister Jane Williams, mother and father-in-law Christina and Peter Klosowski, brother-in-law Michael Smith, nephew Tim Jenning;  great nephew Lucas Klosowski.

Paul served his country through the U.S. Army. He spent just under one year in Vietnam with his fellow Bushmasters. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, shooting his guns, and a good poker game.

Paul's family would like to give special thanks to the kind staff of Autumnwood for taking such wonderful care of him.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 11am at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde.  Visitation will be 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, and Wednesday, January 24, from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am  at the funeral home of Kinde.  Burial will follow in New River Cemetery.
