Port Austin, MI
Patricia “Pat” or “Patty” O’Keefe Davis
August 4, 1939 - October 26, 2026
On the wings of an angel, Pat soared up above, leaving all of her loved ones forevermore on October 26. She was born on August 4, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, to Nora and Leo O’Keefe. On October 12, 1957, Pat married the love of her life, Fred Davis, with whom she shared 61 beautiful years of marriage before his passing on February 9, 2019. After raising their daughters, Pat and Fred enjoyed an adventurous life residing in Port Austin, Michigan for the summers and migrating south to Key Largo, Florida, to enjoy the warmth of the winter months. Pat was known for her energy and inquisitiveness, with a strong desire to learn, explore, and discover new ideas about people, places, and things both in person and through her voracious reading habits.
Pat’s greatest achievement, beyond delivering and nurturing four beautiful daughters, was promoting the Thumb of Michigan through her small business, Thumb Promotions, and later her online venture, thumbtravels.com, which was active for 25 years. She also enjoyed partnering with Fred on his writing, co-authoring and marketing Perils of the Freshwater Seas to chronicle their adventures on Lake Huron. The book captured their shared history managing the Thumb Marine Salvage Company and operating The Miss Port Austin fishing boat. In prior years, Pat was a bookkeeper as well as a volunteer EMT. She loved music and was known for her daily walks through wooded pathways in and around Port Austin.
Pat is survived by her four devoted daughters and their families: Lori Smith (and her late husband, Dahn) of Phoenix, AZ, her daughter Lisa Scott and husband Brad, and their children Rayland and Abby; Lynn Harner and husband Mike of Ocoee, FL, their son Nathan and partner Kim Rivera, and grandchildren Jada Aviles, Nathaniel, and Oliver Harner; Leah Davis Bellucci and husband Fred of Fairfield, CT, their son Robert and wife Tracy (and children Audri and James), their daughter Amy Bellucci Davidson and husband James (and daughter Mackenzie), and their son Richie Bellucci; and Lucynda Thrushman and husband Scott of Port Austin, MI, their daughter Kayla Thrushman Dixon and husband Adam (and son Ari), and their son Kyle Thrushman and partner Charlotte Rapids. She is also survived by many other much-loved relatives, including nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law.
Pat is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred, and her dear sisters Kay Storace Whittemore, Rosie Adams, and brother Chuck Pierce.
Pat was a devoted member of the United Protestant Church in Port Austin for more than 50 years and sang in the choir for many years as well. Initial arrangements are being handled by Knoblock Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Life planned for early July 2027. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Protestant Church at 8625 Arch St, Port Austin, MI 48467
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Courtney Manor for their devoted love and care over the past year. They are also deeply grateful to all of "Chatty Patty’s" wonderful friends and family who brought her so much joy with their visits.
