Nelson Young, 79 of Bad Axe, died Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.

Nelson was born June 2, 1945 in Grosse Pointe Farms, son of the late Harold and Hadie (Brade) Young.  Nelson and Gail Pitcher were married September 25, 1965 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Kinde.

He farmed for over 20 years, after which he was employed by DHIA for 28 years.  Nelson enjoyed hunting and playing cards.  He will be remembered as hardworking and generous.

Nelson is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gail; his children, Brenda (David) Krotchen and Brian (Brenda) Young; his grandchildren, Nick (special friend, Sarah) Krotchen and Erica (Dan) Rich; his great grandchildren, Danny, Joey, and Ben.  He is also survived by his brother, Ray (Kathy) Young; his in-laws, Robert Pitcher, Marion Chaplinski, Marsha Jimpkoski, and Cheryl Jeffery; and a special friend, Dave Hyzer.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jay; his sister, Anna Marie Marsh; and his in-laws, Bernadette Young, Delbert Marsh, Eugene Chaplinski, William Jimpkoski, and Marvin Jeffery.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, April, 7, 2025 at 11am at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad Axe.  There will be visitation on Sunday from 2-7pm at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde and on Monday from 10-11am at the church.  Burial will follow in the Colfax Twp. Cemetery.
