Nellie C. Bodis, 98, of Port Austin died Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Meadow Lane Assisted Living and Memory Care in Bad Axe.

Nellie was born May 2, 1924, in Port Austin, the daughter of the late Michael and Clara (Horetski) Bodis.

She lived her entire life in Port Austin and was a lifelong member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.  She worked in banking for 30 years, retiring from Independent Bank in Kinde in 1989.

She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, yard work and canning.

Nellie is survived by special friends, Connie Baranski and Michael Chaplinski.  And a sincere thank you is extended to her neighbors, Meadow Lanes, Bad Axe, and The Questover in Port Austin.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Irene and her brother, Edward.

Visitation for Nellie will be Thursday, September 22, from 2:00 to 7:00 pm with a rosary that evening at 6:00 pm at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde.  Visitation will also be on Friday at St. Michael's from 10:00 am until the time of her funeral Mass at 11:00.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
