Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother

Mary Ann Chagnon, 86, of Nutley, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Born in Port Austin, Michigan, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late William and Anastasia (Reilly) Schwanitz. She worked as a billing clerk for Nutley Water Department. The beloved wife of the late Robert Chagnon, Mary Ann is survived by her children Kirk Chagnon and his wife Lisa, MaryJo Harkins, and Robert Chagnon and his wife Melissa; her brother Gerald Schwanitz; nine grandchildren James, Liana, Kelly Lynn, Daniel, Cade, Jo Anastasia, Annalise, Ella, and Robby; and two great-grandchildren Jackson and Reilly. She was predeceased by her daughter Lisa Purvis, her brother Edward Schwanitz, and her Son-in-Law Kevin Harkins.

Funeral Mass, at St. Michael's Church, on April 16, 2026, at 11:00am, 8661 Independence Ave, Port Austin, MI 48467.   Internment to follow at St. Michael Cemetery 3254 E Spring St, Port Austin, MI 48467.
