Marvin Leo Goretski, age 91, lifelong resident of Port Austin, passed away August 15, 2022, surrounded by family at his home.  He was born on August 3, 1931, to the late Leo and Francis (Inda) Goretski.

He was united in marriage with Catherine Odine on May 5, 1962.  Catherine preceded him in death in 2001.  Together, they brought 6 children into the world.  He was blessed to find new love with Patricia Yuke, and they were joined in marriage October 8, 2005.

Marvin was a member of Annunciation of the Lord, St. Michael's parish, where he volunteered as a lector, usher, alter server, and parish council member.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, No. 1546, in Bad Axe.  He spent decades of service as Supervisor of Port Austin Township.

Marvin enjoyed Polka music, loved to garden, tend to his walnut and cherry trees, and explore his ancestry.  He also was a master at making the most delicious pies.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Yuke Goretski; his brother, Jerome (Judy) Goretski, his children, Mary Theresa (Robert) Mangliers, Mary Ellen Goretski, Thad Goretski, Patrick Goretski, Mark Goretski, and Mary Beth (Daren) Jarkiewicz; step children, Jamie Yuke, Steven (Donna) Yuke, Andy (Ann) Yuke, Jeff (Regan) Yuke; 16 grandchildren, Kimberly (Brendan) Cleary, Benjamin Mangliers, Cindy (Jared) Mitchell, Theresa (Adam) McSorley, Cory Korsten, Mike Yuke, Matt Yuke, Ben Yuke, Bethany (Anthony) Burkholder, Hannah Yuke, Adam Yuke, Lane Yuke, Chase Yuke, Kingsley Yuke, Jennah Jarkiewicz, and McKayla Jarkiewicz; 4 great grandchildren, William and Carson Cleary, Harper Lesoway, Ryleigh Jarkiewicz; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Agnes Strozeski, Eleanor Fisher, and Rita Krajenka; his stepdaughter, Pamela Yuke Nagle, and his stepson-in-law, Shaun Nagle.

Funeral Mass: Friday August 19, 2022, at 10am at the Annunciation of the Lord, St. Michael's Parish in Port Austin.  Burial: church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde on Thursday, and from 10:00 am at the church on Friday until the time of the Mass at 11:00 am.
