Marilou K. Knoblock, 77, of Kinde, died Saturday, February 3, 2024, at McLaren Thumb Region in Bad Axe.

She was born on October 4, 1946, in Detroit, the daughter of the late Henry and Kathryn (Devine) Weitenberner.   She married Donald J. Knoblock on September 6, 1968, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in St. Claire Shores.

Marilou Graduated from Gross Pointe High School and attended Northwood University.  She worked as a legal secretary in Detroit before moving up to Huron County with her husband.  She worked as the Motel Manager of the Castaways Beach Resort in Port Austin and then, in 1989 she began working as the High School Secretary at North Huron High School in Kinde until her retirement in 2010.

Marilou never passed up an opportunity to travel.  Whether it be to Frankenmuth for a weekend, a cruise to Europe, or a road trip out west with Don, she was always ready to go.  She also enjoyed the casinos and being a part of any type of card game.  She truly valued all of her friends.  Most of all, Marilou loved being a wife, a mom, and a grandma.  Marilou cherished having all of her grandchildren nearby and spent countless hours with them playing games of all kinds.  She and Don hosted 8 exchange students over the years, and she served as a second mom to many of her children's friends.

She is survived by her husband, Don of Kinde, Her son, Chad (Cathy) Knoblock of Kinde, her daughter, Kimberly Offenbecker of Bay City, and her grandchildren, Katie, Tyler, and Shelby Knoblock and Mitchell and Madilyn Offenbecker.  She is also survived by several in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Weitenberner.

Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church of the Annunciation of the Lord Parish in Port Austin.  Officiating will be Fr. Craig Carolan, pastor.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 pm at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde and on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of service at the church.
