Marcia Ann (Schweitzer) Langley, 86, of Filion, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 with her family by her side.

Marcia was born on April 7, 1937, the daughter of Raymond and Iva Schweitzer of Elkton. She attended Elkton School. On Sept. 2, 1953, she married Gerald Walter Langley in Caseville.

Together Marcia and Walt worked side by side on their farm while raising nine children. Marcia was a terrific mother and homemaker. Her home was always spotless and beautifully decorated. Marcia had an eye for fashion and home decor. She was a hard-worker, milking cows and helping on the farm early in her married life. In the late 1970s she and Walt became full-time caregivers as owner/operators of in-home Adult Foster Care homes. She and Walt were known for opening their home and hearts to those in need.

Marcia, faithful in her religion, was a member of the Montgomery United Brethren Church during the time she lived in Montgomery, Mi.

She loved spending time with friends and family. She spent many weekends in the summer months traveling around with her husband to horse pulls. Marcia was not only very proud of her family, her flowers, but especially enjoyed going to Canada on fishing trips and baking. She made the best bread and cinnamon rolls.

She is survived by her sons: Dennis Langley and his wife, Laurey, of Filion, Kirk Langley of Port Austin, Brian Langley of Alpena, Patrick Langley and his wife, Tammy, of Caseville, Kevin Langley and his wife, Shelley, of Bad Axe, Eric Langley and his wife, Tina, of Montgomery; daughters, Shelly Langley and her fiancé (Tim Moll) of Montpelier, Carol Basner and her husband, Billy, of Filion; 29 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; sister Sandra Pegram (Richard) of St. Johns, Fla., sister-in-law Patricia Horger; brothers-in-law Pal Sharma, of Macomb and Tom Brown of Saginaw. And special friends, Susie Rathje and Richard Durant.

Marcia was preceded in death by her husband, Walt, on April 7, 2007; her daughter, Jessica Ann; her son-in-law Josh Heck; grandchildren: Brooke Iva, Jacob, and Taylor; sisters: Lorraine (Dale) Kretzschmer, Delores Sharma, and Carol Brown; brothers-in-law, Lester Langley, Lawrence Langley (Marge), Lewis Langley, Russell Langley (Virginia).

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Knoblock Funeral Home Kinde. A service will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the funeral home.
