LAWRENCE BERNARD AHEARN

Lawrence Ahearn, 93, of Kinde, died Friday October 30, 2015 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.

He was born on June 23, 1922 in Hume Township, son of the late James and Emma (Weis) Ahearn. Lawrence served in the United States Army during World War II as a medic in both Germany and Switzerland. He returned home to work the family farm. At age 42 Lawrence married Lillian Page and together, with their children, they continued to work the family farm.

Lawrence is survived by six children, Steven, Debra, Kathy, Janis, Jim, and Pat; twenty grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Irene, Mae, and Gerald.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his son, Tom; his wife, Lillian; and his siblings, Francis, Gert, Leona, and Bill. He was also preceded in death by his friends, Walt, Willie, and Viola Ignash, his brother-in-law, Dick Angonese, and his canine friend, Lucky.

Funeral Mass will be Monday November 2, 2015 at 11am at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Kinde. Cremation will follow. There will be visitation on Sunday from 2-8pm at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde and on Monday from 10-11am at the church.
