Judith Marion, 74 of Bad Axe, died on Friday, August 16 in Courtney Manor.  She was born on September 9, 1944, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Lewanowski) Grum in Detroit, Michigan

She and David Marion were married on May 22, 1965.  Having moved to Port Austin, they owned and operated Grindstone General Store.  She was an advocate for mental health rights.  And they owned and operated motels.

Judy attended Art School in Phoenix, Arizona.  She was an artist in many different mediums, she loved Art.  She was also known as Driftwood Judy.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Marion and his girlfriend, Wendee Storms Morris of Ludington;  her daughter, Lynda (John) Vargo of Bad Axe; and her Step Brother, Ralph (Katie) Babcock of South Carolina.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joseph Marion and Diane Marion

She was preceded in death by her husband, David, and her seven year old son, James C. Marion.

Cremation has taken place.  There will be a memorial service at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Our Savior Lutheran Church of Bad Axe.  Family has requested that donations be directed to Our Savior Lutheran Church of Bad Axe, or St. Jude's Research Hospital.  Local arrangements made through the Knoblock Funeral Home, Kinde, MI.
