Josephine A. Yaroch, 102, of Port Austin died Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Meadow Lanes.   Assisted Living in Bad Axe.  She was born July 30, 1921, in Port Austin, daughter of the late Frank and Jennie (Horetski) Yaroch.  She graduated from the Port Austin High School.   Josephine worked at the U. S. Post Office in Port Austin, retiring as the Postmaster.

She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin where she served as the organist for almost her entire adult life.  She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and her dog.

She is survived by her special niece and caregiver, Connie Baranski; special helpers and friends, Linda Zurek and Terry Braun; and nieces and nephews, Jim and Helen Polewach, Bob and Joanne Yaroch, Ron and Jeanette Yaroch, Joan and Ed Driscoll, Julie Harker-Leigh, Mary Elizabeth Ziegler, Pat and Vicki Yaroch, and John and Linda Yaroch.

Josephine was preceded in death by her siblings, Albert, Louis, Edwin, Paul, Genevieve Yaroch, Viola Baranski, Gertrude Krease, Florence O'Connor, and Nellie Yaroch.

There will be a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 11am St. Michael's of the Annunciation of the Lord Parish in Port Austin.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-7pm at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde and on Wednesday from 10am until the time of service at the church.
