On June 6th, 2023, Joan Helen (Upton) Yaroch got her wings and went to walk with the angels. She passed away surrounded by loved ones at the age of 91.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Fred Yaroch and her parents Charles and Frances Upton. She is survived by her five daughters: Miriam (Paul) Parrone, Rebecca (Dr. James) Hirn, Anne (Ken) Brown, Elizabeth Yaroch and Ellen Yaroch. Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren who will greatly miss Joan in their lives.

As Joan was raising five girls, she also taught elementary classes in Port Austin and Kinde schools, lead Catechism and Bible studies at St. Michael's Catholic Church and managed the financial records of her husband's paving and excavating company.

For enjoyment Joan traveled, read, gardened, bird watched, sung in the church choir and faithfully followed the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers and Jeopardy! She could easily have been a Jeopardy contestant.

The Yaroch family would like to thank Ruth Richardson and Dea Kidd for their care and comfort, as it made possible Joan's wish to remain at home.

A funeral mass and burial for Joan Yaroch will be on Monday, July 10th, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church of the Annunciation for the Lord Parish in Port Austin.  Arrangements through the Knoblock Funeral Home, Kinde. MI.
