Jacob L. Moolhuizen age 34, of Auburn Hills, formerly of Port Austin, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, May 14, at his home.

He was born September 6, 1983, in Pontiac and moved to Huron County in his youth with his family. He was a graduate of North Huron High School, class of 2002. After high school, he moved to the metro area near Detroit where he worked construction, mostly heavy equipment. Work was his hobby, putting in 70 hour work weeks.  He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 324.

Surviving are his mother, Rose (James Dondineau) Krieg of Filion; his brother, Josh Moolhuizen of Corbin, KY; sisters, Melissa (David) Bilicki of Auburn Hills and Jennifer Moolhuizen of Filion; grandparents, Wayne and Alice Hazzard of Caseville and his aunts, uncles and cousins, nieces and nephews..

A gathering of family and friends in his honor will be held at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde on Saturday May 20, 2017 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
