GERALDINE A. LEAVINE

Geraldine A. Leavine, 89, of Port Austin died Sunday, June 5, 2022, in Bad Axe. She was born on November 29, 1932, in Dwight Township, daughter of the late Ignatius and Agnes (Horetski) Bugenski. She and Edward Leavine were united in marriage February 16, 1952, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin. He preceded her in death January 2, 2009.

Geraldine farmed with her husband and took care of her family. She enjoyed her flower garden and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Marlene (David) Polega of Armada, Darlene (Martin) Gorkowski of Filion, Larry (Beverly) Leavine of Port Austin, Marilyn (Kenneth) Jimkoski of Port Austin, and David (Danielle) Leavine of Port Austin; 18 grandchildren, Nancy (Charles) Laird, Brian (Tara) Polega, Mark (Jennifer) Polega, Susan (Cameron) Dettloff, Donald (Alexandria) Polega, Melissa Laseck, Amanda (Jake) Schumacher, Rhonda (Ryan) Woodke, Bradley (Kelly) Leavine, Katie (Vincent) Yaroch, Mikaela Leavine, Makenzie (Daniel Hitsman) Leavine, Kyle (Laura) Jimkoski, Jamie (Brett) Ross, Jessica (Bradley) Podlesney, Nicole (Eric) Toth, Andrew (Ashleigh Krug) Leavine, and Austin (Elizabeth Mikolajek) Leavine;  and 19 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jack, Danica, Jase, Parker, Sophia, Benson, Avery, Henry, Clayton, Colton, Maggie, Owen, Emersyn, Jameson, Presley, Blake, Corbin, and Adalynn.  Also surviving are her brothers, Gerald Bugenski, Robert Bugenski, Richard Bugenski, Willard (Marlene) Bugenski, and Kenneth (Marjorie) Bugenski; and her brother-in-law, Harry Ventline.

Geraldine was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Leavine; one sister, Dorothy (Stanley) Haleski; and one great-grandchild, Fiona Polega. She was also preceded in death by her in-laws, Patricia Bugenski, Regina (Andrew) Miller, Anthony (Gertrude) Leavine, Leo (Clara) Ventline, Joseph (Genevieve) Ventline, Delores (Adam) Osantoski, and Edna Ventline.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Huron County Medical Care Facility for the care they gave our mother.

Funeral Mass:  Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at St. Michael's of the Annunciation of the Lord Parish in Port Austin at 11:00 am. Burial:  Church cemetery. Visitation:  Tuesday from 3:00-8:00pm with parish rosary at 7:00pm at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde and Wednesday at the church from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.
