On January 5, 2018 the angels sang as Genevieve J. Ventline, 92, entered the gates of Heaven to be with her Heavenly Father and her husband, Joseph R. Ventline.

Genevieve was born on November 2, 1925 to Edward and Ida (Zimpkowski( Goretski.  She attended Ford School with the love of her life.  She and Joseph Ventline were married on October 18, 1947 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin.  She farmed with her husband and also worked at Port Austin Level and Tool.

She was a lifelong member of St. Michael's Church of the Annunciation of the Lord Parish.  She was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality.  Genevieve enjoyed embroidering, crocheting, bingo, canning, and baking, especially pies.

She is survived by her daughters,  Mary Ventline of Ubly, and Diana (William) Braun of Romeo; three grandchildren, Dr. Christie (Dr. Jason) Hammelman of Greenfield, Indiana, William (Brittney) Braun of Dryden and Amy (D.J.) Logan of Allenton; eight grandchildren, Emma, Leah and Maya Hammelman, Liam, Molly, Logan and Landon Braun and Caleb Logan.  Also surviving are sister-in-law, Geraldine Leavine, brother-in-law Harry Ventline, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers; Stanely and Leonard (Berniece) Goretski and he sister, Josephine Goretski.   Two great grandchildren also preceded her along with in-laws; Delores (Adam) Osantoski, Leo (Clara) Ventline, Edna Ventline, Edward Leavine, Anthony (Gertrude) Leavine, Regina (Andrew) Miller, Matthew (Agnes) Ventline, John (Edith) Ventline, and Peter (Rose) Ventline.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at St. Michael's Catholic Church of the Annunciation of the Lord Parish in Port Austin.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Officiating will be Fr. Charles Hammond and Fr. Todd Arnberg.  Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Tuesday and from 9-10:30 am Wednesday at the Knoblock Funeral Home
