Ernest S. Briolat, 76, of Kinde, died Thursday, August 1, 2024, at his home.

He was born on August 4, 1947, in Bad Axe, son of the late Stanley J. and Gladys (Ulfig) Briolat.  He married Beverly Geyer on December 7, 1974.  Ernie retired from Axly Tool and Bushing Inc. in Bad Axe after 30 years of employment.

Ernie was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of the Annunciation of the Lord Parish in Port Austin.  He was also a member of the Port Austin Lions Club and the Port Austin Conservation Club.  Ernie Loved and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren who adored him.  He also enjoyed the bus rides to the casino, where he would call Bingo, gardening, hunting, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; three daughters, Amy Jo Briolat, Kari Ann Briolat, and Dawn Marie (Mark) Iseler; and his grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob, and Kate Jaworski, Ally Radlinski, Kyle Bensinger, and William and Abigail Iseler.  Ernie is also survived by his siblings, Leonard (Marjorie) Briolat, Ronald Briolat, Virgil (Elaine) Briolat, Charles Briolat, Robert (Annette) Briolat, Suzanne Briolat, and Carol Beaudin.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Bernice Weber.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 11am at St. Michael's Catholic Church of the Annunciation of the Lord Parish in Port Austin.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  There will be visitation on Monday from 2pm-8pm at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde and on Tuesday from 10am until the time of service at the church.
