Emily Elizabeth Dotson King passed away December 28, 2022 at McLaren Bay Hospital.  Emily was born December 27, 1922 in Hickman Kentucky to  Maddie Pearl Whitsitt and Leonard Rivers Dotson (both  deceased). She was predeceased by her Husband Harold Clay King in 1995. She leaves four daughters: Emily Ann Copeland oF Middleton, Tennessee; Barbara King Hill, Port Austin Michigan, Janice Sue Whelan (Michael, recently deceased) of  Chicago Illinois, Sandra Gail Bendert (Richard) Gresham of Oregon. Eight  grandchildren: Robert Copeland (Connie), Jerry Lee Hill, Jr (Christie), Cheryl Lynne Copeland, Richard Ball (Laura), Gregory Ball (Colleen), Matthew Bendert (Shannon), Johnathon Bendert (Tanya), James Bendert (Kristin). She also has ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She is survived by one sister MaryAnn Dotson Moore of Knoxville Tennessee.

Emily retired from Sears & Roebuck catalog department. Emily retained several coworkers' as friends until her death.  She was a cherished mother, sister, daughter and friend to many.  Two young people in particular adopted Emily and Harold as a second set of parents.  Elaine Nitos     Williams and Donald Stabley both consider Emily their "other mother".

She was an avid crocheter and enjoyed sharing her hundreds of afghans. Her beautiful creations are the pride of countless friends and family members.  She and Harold lived in Warren Michigan for over 40 years where their four daughters and one granddaughter all graduated from Centerline High School.

Emily passed away one day after her 100th birthday.  Thanks to efforts of her sister MaryAnn Moore she received over 130 Birthday cards , and she loved them all.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 2, 2023, from noon until the time of the Funeral Service at 2pm at the Knoblock Funeral Home. Kinde.
