Ellen Sue Gross, 72 died Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.  She was born on September 6, 1953 in Detroit, daughter of the late Philip Gross and Marjorie (Aronsson) Shell.  Ellen grew up in the Royal Oak/ Huntington Woods suburbs of Detroit.  She worked in the automotive industry as a secretary and as a translator.

Ellen was outgoing and had many friends who delighted in her keen intelligence and wry wit.  Over the years her health declined, and she moved to the more peaceful Thumb area of Michigan where she developed a deep faith in Christ and immersed herself in the bible and Christian literature.  She has now found peace in the kingdom of the Lord.

Ellen is survived by her brothers, Michael Gross and Neil Gross; her nieces and nephews, Megan Gross, Robert Gross, Gary Gross, and Sarah Gross.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026 at 12pm at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde.  Burial will follow in Port Austin Township Cemetery.  There will be visitation from 11am until the time of service at 12pm at the Funeral Home.
