EDWARD DOLAN

Edward Dolan, 65, of Bad Axe, died July 4, 2023.  He was born on December 12, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, the oldest of four children of Lillian (Knoblock) Dolan and Edward Dolan.

Ed was born and raised in Detroit.  He was an Eagle Scout and attended De La Salle High School before moving to Port Austin in 1975, where he graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1976.

Ed will be remembered as a truly kind person and a special friend to many.  He enjoyed connecting with anyone who crossed his path always with a sincere smile and a great sense of humor.

He loved to share his passion for hunting, fishing, horses, and other adventures with his friends and family.

He is survived by his siblings Susan (Rich) Sutton of Traverse City, Kathleen Dolan of Saline, and Mary Barsch of San Jose, CA, and his nieces and nephews Ben (Lindsey) Sutton, Lauren (Daniel) Furey, Matthew (Etienne) Sutton, Elise Barsch, Sarah Barsch, and great nieces Genevieve Furey and Emerson Sutton.

He is also survived by many loving aunts and uncles: Venice Clancy, Irene Pettit, Betty Jane Hertel, Ken (Belle) Knoblock, Dan Knoblock, Don (Marilou) Knoblock, Karen (Jack) Gilbreath, Gary (Beth) Knoblock, and Linda (Paul) Burger, as well as cousins, the extended Dolan family in Pennsylvania, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward Dolan (October 6, 1975) and Lillian Dolan (December 1, 2018) as well as aunts and uncles Florence and Larry Yaroch, Lorraine and David Kelterborn, Gene Clancy, Eldon Knoblock, Edwin Knoblock, Irv Pettit, Agnes and Ed Sheridan, John and Nellie Dolan, Eugene and Jean Dolan, and Mary Dolan.

A Funeral Mass for Edward Dolan will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, at St. Michael's Catholic Church of the Annunciation of the Lord Parish in Port Austin, with Fr. Craig Carolan officiating.  Burial and lunch will immediately follow Mass at St. Michael's auditorium.  Funeral arrangements through the Knoblock Funeral Home, Kinde, Michigan.
