Surrounded by his family Donald N. McIntyre, 86, of Bad Axe, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 of chronic health conditions at the Huron County Medical Care Facility.  He was born February 3, 1935 in Rapid City, South Dakota, the son of the late Neil and Vera (Gray) McIntyre.  Mary Klass and he were united in marriage on December 28, 1962, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Sheridan Township.  She preceded him in death of May 17, 2013.

Don worked at the Vaughn Store and the Polewach Store in Bad Axe for many years and retired from the Huron County Sheriff's Department.  He was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church, the Indian Trails Riding Club, the Michigan Trail Riders Association and was a long-time Huron County 4H leader.  Besides his family, Don enjoyed his horses, trail riding and campfires, rodeos, watching western movies and reading.

He is survived by his children:  Colleen (Richard) Divine of Mt. Pleasant, Fred McIntyre of Bad Axe, Neil (Debra) McIntyre of Dayton, MD. Brad (Jennie)McIntyre of Tampa, FL, Kathleen McIntyre of Madison Heights, Kerrie (Darren) Lubeski of Ubly, and Kurt (Kelli) McIntyre of Bad Axe; his grandchildren: Rachel and Connor McIntyre, Bryce, Drew and Paige McIntyre, Alexis (Benjamin) Bara, McKenzie and Chase McIntyre, Leah and Shayler and Brynlee McIntyre; and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph McIntyre, Stepfather, Edwin Sosnoski, parents-in-law, Lawrence and Barbara Klass, brothers-in-law Fred, Sylvester, Arthur and Harold Klass, Tom Rytlewski and Edward Nelkie and sisters-in-law: Pat, Delphine, Angeline Mildred, and Roberta Klass, Irene Nelkie, Dorothy Rytlewski and stepsister Maxine Sump.

There will be a private service for family and burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery.
