David John Craig (59) of Port Austin passed away Jan 27, 2022 at home after a short battle with cancer while surrounded by loved ones. David was born October 30, 1962, to Margie (Schramski) Craig and the late David A. Craig in Bad Axe, Mi. David is survived by his loving wife Doris (Munro) Craig, four children, Rachel Craig (Kevin Arntz), David Craig II (Heather Blunt), Jeffrey Craig and Jeannette Craig (Dylan Aldridge). Four beloved grandchildren, David Craig III, Korbyn Craig, Talon and Raelynn Schulte. He is also survived by his mother Margie Craig and his siblings, Debra Ventline, Brenda (Tim) Moore, Cherie (Randy) Dickinson, Daniel Craig, Jodie (Ed) Schipinski, sister-in-law Denise Craig, brother-in-law Jeff (Cheryl) Munro, and sister-in-law Janet (Larry) Goretski, several nieces and nephews.

David married Doris Munro, June 22, 1996, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Kinde, Mi. They built their lives together and were best friends for 26 years. David was his own man, he enjoyed the quietness of the woods, hunting and being out on the water fishing. He took trips up north camping with his wife as often as he could. When he wasn't outdoors, he could be found in the garage building something, He showed his love by making stuff with his hands. He provided for his family as a carpenter and built hundreds of beautiful homes around Huron County. David was a family man, everyone he met he made part of his family, always a welcome handshake and a warm hug. He cherished the time he spent with his children, always teaching them something and telling stories of the "good old days." His favorite times were spent with his grandkids, whether by blood or not, he loved running around and exploring with them.

David was preceded in death by his father David ("Blackie") Craig, father-in-law David Munro, mother-in law Jeannette Munro, brother Allen Craig, brother-in-law Donald Ventline, nephews Kristopher Moore, and Luke Dickinson.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial is being held in his honor Friday, February 4th, 2022, at Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde from 4pm-6pm. Service begins at 6pm. In honor of David's love for the outdoors, please feel free to attend in casual or camo attire. Memorials can be given to the Knoblock Funeral Home for the family discretionary fund.
