Clayton C. Purdy, Jr., 87, of Pte. Aux Barques died Thursday, September 13, 2018 at McLaren Thumb Region in Bad Axe.

He was born on February 9, 1931, the son of the late Clayton C. and Dorothy C. (Truettner) Purdy in Detroit, Michigan.

Clayton earned a BA from University of Michigan, was a Veteran of the US Army, having served during the Korean War.  He was born and raised in Grosse Pointe, MI and spent summers with family in Pte.  Aux Barques.  He lived in Pte. Aux Barques for the last 35 years.

He was an avid fly fisherman and a member of Trout Unlimited.  He also served as the Township Supervisor at Pte. Aux Barques.

He is survived by his children:  Catherine  (Buz) Chandler, Kirk Purdy of Vero Beach, FL, and Clayton (Sharon) Purdy III of Chicago, IL and his grandchildren: Edward, Elizabeth and Charlotte Chandler, Robert and Cal Purdy, and Anne Purdy (Matt) Fowler, Will Purdy, Ellie Purdy, and Lindsay Purdy (Roger) Koenigsknecht.  Also surviving are his siblings Ann (Jim) McGhee, Judy (Frank) Bracken, and Tom (Susie) Purdy.

Memorial Service for Clayton Purdy will be held 10:00 am on Saturday at Pte. Aux Barques.
