Charles E. "Chuck" Pettit, 50, of Port Austin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 with his family at his side.

Chuck was born on March 16, 1969, the son of Joann "Jaworski" Pettit and the late Richard L. Pettit.

He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of the Annunciation of the Lord Parish, where he served as an altar boy for 34 years.  He attended the Huron Learning Center and later achieved his certificate of completion at graduation from North Huron High School.

Chuck worked at Farmer Jack's, Thumb Industries Thrift Store and Meals on Wheels.  He enjoyed riding his moped, going to the library, and his books (especially his bible.)

Chuck is survived by his mother, his siblings: Richard D. (Julie) Pettit, Linda Pettit, Kristie Newby (her fiancé, Jim) and Michelle (Steve) Radlinski.  His nieces and nephews: Justin (Angela) Foley, Lindsay (Gerald) Besiada, Tyler (Ashley) Pettit, Tucker Pettit, Caitlin and Kelsey Newby, Amanda, Jason and Ford Bailey and Ally Radlinski.  Also surviving are his great nephew, Bryson Besiada, his great niece, Olivia Pettit, his great nephew, Sam Schauer and several Aunts and Uncles.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Richard L. Pettit, his grandparents, George and Florence (Lobert) Pettit and Florian and Martha (Kozlowski) Jaworski, as well as several aunts and uncles.

Funeral Mass for Charles "Chuck" Pettit will be Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Lord Parish in Port Austin.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 13, 2020 in the Knoblock Funeral Home, Kinde and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 am until the Mass at 11:00.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
