Carol Marie Baranski, 74, of Lakeland, Florida died on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe with family at her side. She was born on November 13, 1950 in Bad Axe, Michigan, the daughter of the late Chester and Mary Jane (Hudo) Baranski.

Carol graduated from North Huron Schools and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University. Following her graduation, she worked in the insurance and finance industries. Carol later went on to earn an RN degree from Mott Community College. She then worked as a registered nurse in Michigan and Florida until she retired. In her retirement, Carol helped to care for her great niece and nephew, Winston and Kennedy. She loved to talk with them about what they would be doing in the future as she was proud of all her nieces and nephews and always cheered them. Carol's life journey and her health brought her back to Huron County, which was always home in her heart. Carol, who was known as "Sis" to her family, looked forward to Sunday dinners and spending holidays with family. She was a talented seamstress, loved to keep up to date on what was happening in the world, and enjoyed a variety of music.

She is survived by her siblings: Daniel Baranski, Port Austin; Phyllis (William) Fisher, Plant City, Florida; Edmund (Desiree) Baranski, Metamora, MI; Barbara (Kenneth) Polega, Port Austin; Michael (Mary Ellen) Baranski, Port Austin; and Mary Ann Baranski, Carlisle, PA.

Also surviving are her nieces and nephews: Kristy (Ryan) Hendricks, Jayme Deagan, Erin (Brandon) Barnes, Jacob (Sarah) Baranski, Jeremy (Brandy Gordon) Polega, Laura (Matt) Hampton, James (Meaghan) Polega, Paul (Amanda) Nienaltowski, Mary (Russ) Ho, Alex (Sarah) Nienaltowski, Anastasia (Mick) Hamberg, Michael (Beth) Nienaltowski, Shawn (Michele) Mason as well as a number of great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, Chester and Mary Jane, she was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth J. Baranski and sister-in-law, Judy Baranski.

Funeral mass for Carol will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church of the Annunciation of the Lord Parish in Port  Austin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3. Visitation will be at the church from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. prior to the mass. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde.

The family would especially like to thank the staff of Courtney Manor and Heartland Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Carol while she was a patient at the facility.
