Byron D. Wallace, 87 of Port Austin Township, died Friday, April 7, 2017 at his home.  He was born on September 21, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Kilty) Wallace.

Byron and Christine Rivard were married in St. Mary's Queen of Creation Church in New Baltimore, Michigan on November 30, 1957,

He served in the United States Air Force for 23 years.  He was employed at McDonald Douglas for 10 years.  Byron enjoyed yard work, wood-working, baseball, football, and reading history books.  He was a member of the American Legion, Frank Horetski Post 499 in Port Austin,  and the VFW of the United States, Post 8830, Pusan, Korea. Byron and Christine moved to Port Austin from California 22 years ago.

Byron Wallace is survived by his wife, Christine, his children:  Bill Wallace, Edith "Helen" Lawrence and James (Elke) Wallace.  Also surviving are ten grandchildren:  Amanda Williams, Nicola (Matt) Saintage, Rebecka Tonn, Olivia (Andrew) Hightecter, Michelle (Barbera Smith, Kryston (Dennis) Foreman, Kelly (Rebecca) Pierce, Zac Wallace, Anna (Eric) Gilchrist,  and Scott Wallace, as well as 23 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one son, John Wallace.

Cremation has taken place.  Arrangements through the Knoblock Funeral Home, Kinde, MI.
