Bernice A. Osentoski, 86, of Kinde passed away December 9, 2020 at McLaren Thumb Region in Bad Axe.

Bernice was born June 21, 1934 in Kinde to the late John and Anna (Schramski) Lasceski.  She married Mark Osentoski on November 11, 1961 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kinde.  He preceded her in death on August 23, 2015.

Bernice was a dedicated, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She was a graduate of Kinde High School.  She worked at Hubbard State Bank (which later became Community Bank) and at Ben Franklin.  She then quit working to raise her six children.  She returned to the workforce and worked at Sohigro and at the Huron County Health Department until she finally retired.  She enjoyed reading, doing word puzzles, going to the casino, and out to eat.  She enjoyed spending time with friends and playing cards, which gave her the idea to form the Happy Bunch Card Club.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a member of St. Mary's Rosary Sodality.

Bernice is survived by her six children, Jean Osentoski of Mt. Clemens, Joan Peters of Bad Axe, Jane Osentoski of Bad Axe, Jill Osentoski of Caseville, Julie (Ken) Kubacki of Ubly, and John Osentoski of Filion; her grandchildren, Mandy (Rick) Tetreau, Corey Peters, Katelyn Peters, and Ashley Kubacki; her great grandchildren, Dylan Bairski-Peters, Beaux Fritz, Brayson Tetreau, and Allyson Peters; and her step-grandchildren, Tyler and Josh Kubacki.  She is also survived by one sister, Grace Goretski; one brother, Jerry (Sue) Lasceski; her sister-in-law, Delores (Jim) Stacer; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, John, and Ben Lasceski; her sister and brothers-in-law, Barbara Lasceski, Ernest Goretski, Cletus Osentoski, Leanard and Marie Osentoski, Curtis and Francis Osentoski, Helen and Herman Kociba, Ilene Narring, and Florence Lasceski.

Her family would like to thank the McLaren hospital for their care and kindness and the staff of Courtney Manor.  A special thanks to everyone that visited over the last 5 years.

Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 11am at St. Mary's Catholic Church of The Annunciation of the Lord Parish, Kinde, Visitation will take place at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde on Sunday from 2-8pm with a rosary recited by St. Mary's Rosary Sodality at 4 pm, and on Monday from 9:30-10:30am at which time we will go in procession to the church for the Mass.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
