Allison A. Martin, 45 passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022, following a lifelong struggle with mental illness.

She was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on October 24, 1976, the daughter of Joseph A. and the late Nancy J. Martin.

Allison grew up in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and following her graduation with an Art and teaching degree from the U of M Flint, she lived in various cities including Detroit, MI, Phoenix, AZ and Los Angeles, CA before settling down in Detroit. While in LA, she also began working on her Master's degree in Psychology.

She was also very active in the arts, fashion and music scene in Detroit, and dedicated time and money to the Ferndale Cat shelter where she fostered and adopted her beloved cats.

Before her death, she was a Behavioral Therapist working with Autistic and special needs children at Centria Autism in Taylor, MI.

Allison is survived by her father, Joseph and stepmother, Deborah Martin, her sister Amy (Kevin) Moorehead, nephews Jayden Kilgo and Karter Moorehead, step siblings Patricia (Christopher) Coulter, Peggy (Kenneth) McQueen, Matthew (Melissa) Zellers and Thomas Zellers, as well as ten step nieces and nephews.

A Memorial and Burial service will be held at Pte Aux Barques cemetery on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
